Menolly is also a character in Dragondrums, but the book’s protagonist is a young boy named Peimur, and it is not quite as fun a read as the first two books. If you have never read anything by Anne McCaffrey, do yourself a favor and read these books.

Thanks to my sister Chelsea, I got a chance to read this great story. Set up a giveaway. And I love it still. She does and it is fabulously triilogy.

Dragonflight Dragonquest The White Dragon. Robinton, who is present at Benden for the Hatching, is intrigued that Menolly has taught her fire-lizards to sing. It is not a complicated story, but it is well-told dragonsonf the theme is universal. Menolly finds is has alot to learn and has not made very many friends. Come on – riding dragons!
Harper Hall’s target was young adults in contrast to the general audience for fantasy and science fiction. Piemur learns frilogy code very easily and wants to do a good job of it. The other thing that I really like about this story is that it has a fairly narrow focus.
Can anyone tell me what role music played in the daily life of pern? Can Piemur find a new purpose?
I think I was bored one day and was bookmooching books that my friends have marked with 5 stars. She has perfect pitch, and can play any instrument like a virtuoso with very little practice. But this kindle edition is so rife with typographical errors and omitted words it literally drives me batty, and at moments, it’s almost painful to read through because of it.

The Harper Hall series is amazing! I wasn’t sure if it would triloy me in the way the first books have. The book was written for an arguably younger audience than any other set of books trikogy McCaffrey’s Pern series.
Perhaps this is very easy to relate to as a child, since we are developing and as-yet stuck in our egocentric snowglobe built around us by our doting old folks, etc, but I feel like I’ve never seen or noticed this side of Anne McCaffrey’s writing before – and, having not read any of her other works for some years now, I’ll be keen to go dragonxong and feel for impressions ha!
But, overall, I was not drawn in to the book or by the characters. For centuries, the world of Pern has faced a destructive force known as Thread. The young heroine, Menolly, who is trying to build a better life for herself; the tiny fire lizards; the huge dragons and their telepathically-linked riders who protect the planet from the threat of THREAD falling from the sky; the guild of singers who carry information from place to place; and most of all, Master Harper Robinton. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve read this series My paperback set of these three Harper Hall novels had literally fallen apart.
